Central Securities Depository proceeds with digitalisation of processes

Centrálny depozitár cenných papierov SR, a.s. (CDCP) will enable its clients to place requests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Continuous digitalisation of processes is ensured by launch of the new on-line portal, which allows processing of requests without personal presence. The new portal, that is accessible from today, reflects current electronization requirements for services provided on the capital market and progresses toward standards applied in countries of the European Union.

LEI code services are fully automated and simple

All natural persons and legal entities performing trading or other business activities, and are responsible for transactions with financial instruments, are obliged to have a LEI code (Legal Entity Identifier). This obligation applies to a wide range of companies and corporations - except issuers of securities, included are credit and financial institutions, funds, including pension funds and unit trusts, fund managers, insurance companies and each entity that is legally or financially responsible for financial operations. Therefore, Centrálny depozitár cenných papierov SR who is allocating the LEI codes, created dedicated webpage thanks to which the process is automated and simple.

Central Securities Depository changes provision of services

Provision of services to clients of Centrálny depozitár cenných papierov SR (CDCP) has been changed. These changes are related to implementation of new rules for securities settlement discipline and launch of the penalty mechanism due to implementation of the European Union regulations. The changes apply to owners of accounts administered by CDCP for natural persons, government bodies acting on behalf of the SR and legal entities other than a central depository, a member or a participant of CDCP.

Central Securities Depository informs of fraudulent invoices

Centrálny depozitár cenných papierov SR (CDCP) has been notified of a fraudulent invoice issued on behalf of CDCP and sent by an unknown sender. The invoice was issued for services related to cryptocurrency and includes CDCP´s identification details. The central securities depository is not the issuer of such invoice; thus, we would like to bring your attention to this fraudulent act. Since then, the number of fraudulent invoices has increased, as CDCP discovered.

The regulation increases certainty at trading with securities

The European Commission comes with an initiative aiming to enhance the securities settlement discipline. In particular, it concerns regulation which is binding also for the Slovak Republic. In practice this will mean the obligation to implement the penalty mechanism from 01 February 2022, through which Centrálny depozitár cenných papierov SR (CDCP SR) will have to collect and consequently distribute cash penalties for late settlement or late matching of settlement instructions. The goal of the proposal is to achieve higher efficacy and also certainty during trading with securities for both parties – buyers and sellers.
